Biography
Born in Burlingame, California and raised in Salt Lake City, Utah.
I have always loved drawing and making music but never thought I would be lucky enough to make a living at either.
In high school one of my art teachers challenged me to enter a competition and told me she would base my grade for the quarter on how my painting did in that show. I took her up on her offer and did a painting for the National Reflections competition which was coming up. Within a few weeks I was advised I had won the Regional award for visual arts. She gave me an A. That same painting went on to win, State and then amazingly the national prize. At that point she asked if I would just like to keep it going and each quarters grade would be based on entering an art show or competition. I agreed and continued to paint, enter and win numerous awards.
That’s when I realized I wanted to do art professionally and put me on the path I’ve followed ever since.
After high school I met Tami, who would later become my wife and we started a family. We have 3 wonderful daughters and have never looked back. I play guitar, enjoy photography and fine art. Over the years I have become an outdoor enthusiast. I love fly fishing, hiking, camping and all things nature. We travel to as many of the Wests’ many natural wonders as often as we can.
I love animals and currently have 3 dogs which keep us busy as our children have grown up. I am also a sports fan and have been patiently waiting for my Utah Jazz to win an NBA title. Maybe someday that patience will finally pay off. I hope.
